Practical Info & Safety

Your safety

We want you to have an enjoyable, safe and comfortable Abunai! convention. To this end, we’v red-shirted Stewards patrol our convention premises, ready to help and give assistance to those in need. Even if you just need some guidance to get to the right room!

Keep Abunai! a safe space for all: be nice, be respectful. Remember to treat your fellow visitors with kindness. It’s even in our Convention Policies.

Need help?

If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please let us know. Even if you doubt if it’s really that serious: we always take you seriously and are here to support you. Please reach out to Steward (red t-shirt) or Staff (black t-shirt) for help.

&nbsp

If you cannot find a Steward or Staff member, you can always go to our Info Desk. Of course, there’s always a female or male volunteer ready to help you out. We absolutely understand if you have a preference.

Cosplay is Not Consent

Always ask permission before taking a picture of someone in cosplay! Even if it’s not a selfie, you must ask permission. Never take a picture without asking someone. If you’re a cosplayer who needs help, reach out to a Steward or Staff member. They’re here to help.

Heartbreak Patrol

Our Heartbreak Patrol patrols the convention grounds on the lookout for people who might need some emotional support. Stewards mainly deal with matters of safety, Heartbreak Patrol mainly deals with matters of the heart. They’re here if you need someone to talk to. Perhaps you got in a fight with a friend? Or you’re just feeling overwhelmed? Heartbreak Patrol’s here for you. You’ll recognise these dedicated volunteers by the big button. Can’t find them? Ask a Steward to call them up or go to the Info Desk.
