Abunai! 2024: Kitsune Matsuri wouldn’t be complete without an actual Matsuri, right? Our mischievous kitsune have prepared a Matsuri filled with (free!) playful activities for you to enjoy.
That’s not all! Various others will attend our Matsuri with a stall and activities of their own. Be sure to check them out! This page will be updated soon to showcase the new participants.

You’ll find our Matsuri, for the most part, near the Food Court. A few of the stalls are located in the Genderzaal, read on to get to know which!

Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands
Supported by Samurai Events
Get to learn Japan! The Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands will grace the Abunai! 2024 Matsuri with their presence. Play various games such as Kendama, fold origami cranes and prepare for your Japan trip thanks to their tips.
The Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands and Samurai Events will also host a Yes/No quiz on Saturday 14:00-15:00 in the Baroniezaal. The quiz will take place twice, once per 15-20 minutes!
Yamato Taiko Drum School
In 2013 YAMATO the drummers of Japan founded a drum school in the Netherlands, to spread the joy of Taiko drumming. Come over to their booth and get to know the Taiko drum!

Matsuri Stamp Rally
Join the Abunai! 2024 Matsuri, participate in our stamp rally & win fabulous prizes!
Entering is completely free. To participate, pick up your stamp rally card at the Matsuri Info Stall. Then visit 6 stalls listed on the back of the stamp rally card. Complete their short activity and collect stamps.
Once you’ve collected 6 stamps, return to the Matsuri Info Stall & hand the stamp rally card to our team. You’ll be entered into a raffle to determine your prize! The prizes range from goodies to a VIP weekend ticket for Abunai! 2025!
You can participate in any of the Matsuri activities listed below without entering the stamp rally!
Abunai! 2024 Matsuri Stamp Rally – Terms and Conditions
- One stamp card per visitor, per day.
- You need to collect 6 stamps, from a Matsuri stall of your choice, on your stamp card to be eligible for any prizes.
- A full stamp card allows you to participate in our raffle, giving you the chance to win various prizes, including one (1) VIP weekend ticket for Abunai! 2025
- Prizes are not exchangeable for money
- The VIP ticket is awarded to one (1) winner only and cannot be shared
- Only one (1) VIP ticket will be awarded per person. If you’ve won a VIP ticket on a previous day, you can draw another lot from the raffle as an alternative prize
- Stichting Abunai! can withhold prizes if the player is suspected of tampering with the outcome.
- In case of any misunderstanding, disagreement, or similar issue during the event, Abunai! staff will have the final say. The results are not open for discussion.

Cosplay Selfie Hunt
Complete all selfie objectives given at the stall!
Remember: always ask permission before taking a selfie with someone. Be kind, be courteous!

Goldfish Scooping
Fake goldfish are used in this game.
Goldfish scooping is a traditional Japanese matsuri game where players scoop goldfish with a special scooper. Can you catch them all?

Legendary Kitsune Hunt
Find the foxes scattered around the convention ground!
- How to get your stamp: find all fox posters, take a selfie and show them at the booth.
Match the Owner
- How to get your stamp: play 1 game.
Shooting Gallery
Grab a NERV gun and hit the targets!

Tsume no Unchi
A Japanese twist on the classic Dutch game ‘spijkerpoepen’. You can play against friends or complete the 3-tier ‘boozy Kitsune’ challenge!

Based on the Japanese game Uta-garuta, players must match the correct quotes to the right characters. There are three decks: Anime, Video Games, and Various (yes, this includes memes). Will you be the most knowledgeable among your friends to connect a quote correctly?

Dueling Card Game
Back from the class benches of Abunai!U, it’s the dueling card game! (It’s actually Rock, Paper Scissors with extra steps, but don’t and please let the creator hear it.)
