Tell us a bit about yourself!
Some days I just feel like my picture should be in the dictionary next to the description for “Nerd”. I’m a software developer by trade and as of this year I have become a manager for Abunai! as well. Another change and another new set of challenges. Every year I put in as much effort as I can to make sure that my parts of Abunai! run smoothly and that our guests have a great experience all around.
What do you like most about (your position at) Abunai?
I get to talk to so many people. Both professional business people and aspiring artists looking to make their mark on the world. It’s inspiring to see all the new artists expose at Abunai! and share their creations with the world.
What’s your favorite Abunai! memory?
Making compromising pictures with our Kitsune puppet is always a highlight. [Editor’s note: do not lewd the Kitsune.]
What is your alignment?
Solidly Chaotic Neutral.
Do you prefer weeb or otaku?
I think Otaku maybe sounds more sophisticated in Europe, but I wear my weeb colours proudly. [Editor’s note: Let your weeb flag fly Sebastiaan.]
If you were a magical girl, what style would your outfit be and what would your power be?
I feel like i would have to be a Magical Girl version of Rainbow Dash.
Playstation, PC, Xbox, or Nintendo?
Playstation for life. What? Come fight me. In Street Fighter.
If you were to write a self-insert fic, to which anime/manga/game would you transport yourself to? And with which character would you start a relationship?
I feel like i’m already doing this in my D&D campaigns. I get to be a bad-ass Barbarian that wrecks shop in fights and protects the other players by being on the front line of battle taking the hits. No romance involved just now, but who knows what is to come. My DM might be reading this, you know.

My Eyes – Dr. Horrible. This lovely duet allows me to pick either a sarcastic or optimistic chorus to sing along in the car – adapting to my current mood each time over.
If you could Cosplay as anyone regardless of your skill(s), who would you Cosplay as?
For a long time I’ve been thinking about doing a Victorian gentleman Ryu from Street Fighter. I think that could be very nice.
What are you looking most forward to this Abunai?
Seeing all the wonderful cosplay people do at our event. I admire the crafstmanship and effort and the glee with which people portray their favorite characters.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Life can be challenging, but it’s made better by abiding one simple rule. Don’t be a dick! Don’t be one in traffic, don’t be one to a cashier, don’t be one in public. Just don’t. You’ll make the world better by living by this one rule and applying yourself in this manner and the world will be better to you, back in return.
