Karaoke Competition

Soramimi Karaoke will host the Abunai! 2022 karaoke competition on Saturday August 13. Sing your favorite J-pop / anime / game song and be judged by Soramimi’s jury. 

Sign-up Rules

To enter the competition, please send an email to karaoke@abunaicon.nl before June 30th 2022 with the following subject line: Abunai! Karaoke Competition 2022. Please include the following information in your e-mail:

  • Your name
  • Your visitor number
  • The song you are entering with. Check Soramimi Karaoke Song List for all available songs. Please note:
    • You can enter with one song.
    • You can enter with your chosen song in two ways: sing-along to sung track or sing to an instrumental version.  
    • Some songs in the list are unsuitable for the competition, as they have no connection to Japanese (pop)culture. You will be informed if you have selected such a song.

If you want to use a song that isn’t in the list, please mention it in your e-mail and we will contact you about it. You can also send the required data with your application: 

  • The lyrics in txt-format. 
  • The song in mp3-format. If you want to use an instrumental version please send both the sung version along and the instrumental version.
  • The song cannot be longer than 5 minutes.
  • The mp3-file must be at least 192 kbps.
  • Write down the following info about the song in the mail:
    • Title
    • Artist
    • Anime/Game/Series.

You cannot enter this competition with a song that doesn’t have any connection with Japanese (pop)culture.

Frequently Asked Questions

With how many people can I join in the competition?
As many as you like, but please note that there are only two microphones available.

I requested a song for the competition, will it also be available at the free karaoke?
Yes, the competition and karaoke use the same song database.

How many songs do you have to sing at the competition?
You can enter with just one song.

Why do I need to send the normal version if I only want to use the instrumental version?
We need to hear the song to time the lyrics by ear, in order to time the instrumental version.

Can I enter with a group and by myself?
No, because there are limited places for competitors. You can only enter once.

Can I enter the competition with a song that doesn’t have any connection with the Japanese (pop)culture?

Can I enter the competition with a song that isn’t in Japanese?
Yes, so long as there’s a connection with the Japanese (pop)culture.
